Château Antoinette is located in the municipality of Saint Martin-du-Bois and originally registered in 1555. In the following century, the château was partially destroyed during the war between the Catholics and Protestants, then subsequently rebuilt and enlarged, it became the property of the Lagarde family. The château was seized during the French Revolution and put up for sale in 1795. At that time, Jean-Baptiste Alezay, a citizen of Libourne, bought the castle for 95,300 pounds.
